Considering the popularity of trail riding and the fact that NY has the 3rd largest ATV sales in the USA (source: 2002 & 2003
motorsports industry trade publications), historically there have been very few legal places in the state where the general public can ride ATVs and trail bikes. Finding such places is problematic, so NYSORVA focuses on the “big picture” of riding opportunity statewide and defers to other sources for local where-to-ride detail ("where can I ride" is the most popular inquiry we get). We hope our overall efforts will create the environment for the short list to grow.
We will continue to harp on the fact that your best way to find places to ride is to join a club and be active with it. See the Club List page linked in the "NY Clubs" section above.

Organized Rides: As information is provided to us, we will develop a list for 2004 of events from around New York and adjacent states and provinces. Includes ATV, and Dual-Sport, Enduro, Hare Scramble and motorcycle trail rides.
Always call ahead to determine if an event will be held as scheduled and to ascertain equipment requirements.
Look to ATVConnection.com,
ATVSource.com,
ATVIllustrated.com, and many others for additional info on places to ride in NY and other states. And otherwise let your search engine do the walking…
Send in information on your club's event to
Inquire@nysorva.org, and we'll try post them expeditiously to this web site and to distribute to our E-mail List network. Please include a contact phone, address and e-mail/web link for riders to sign up or get more info. You are also welcomed to submit your links and info regarding your area's legal riding.
